A preview of the new season lineup for the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival reveals some returning troupes as well as some international dance companies making their U.S. debuts. This will be the Festival’s 79th season in showcasing dance.
Mark Morris Dance Group will mark its 30th anniversary with a return Pillow appearance. Acclaimed Trisha Brown Dance Company will also highlight work from their repertoire. New apperances include dancers from Paris Opera Ballet in an ensemble called 3e étage (3rd Floor) and Cuban dance troupe DanzAbierta. Stanton Welch, Houston Ballet Artistic Director, will create a new piece for the Pillow’s opening night gala. The remainder of the full season will be released tomorrow.
This year’s summer season of Jacob’s Pillow runs from June 18-August 28. The entire campus is nestled in the western Massachusetts town of Becket, one part of the vast pastoral and picturesque landscape that is the Berkshires.
